As many celebrated the Christmas holiday weekend, some families had heavy hearts as their loved ones were met with violence. Ralph Elliot, 79, was fatally shot on Christmas Eve during a robbery attempt outside Popeye’s near 47th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue.
